The short version. Paperwall has no accounts and no login. We don't ask for your name, your email, or anything else about you, and we don't build a profile of you. Your favorites are saved on your phone and never sent anywhere.
Paperwall is made by Serendipiware Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17232380, at Unit A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE, United Kingdom. For anything in this policy, we are the data controller.
You can reach us any time at hello@serendipiwa.re.
The following never leaves your phone:
We cannot see any of it. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Paperwall downloads its wallpapers from our own servers at
cdn.paperwall.serendipiwa.re, hosted on Cloudflare R2 in the
European Union.
Like any request over the internet, this means our hosting provider receives your device's IP address and basic technical information such as the type of request and the time it was made. This is a normal part of how the web works and is necessary to deliver the images to you. We do not use this information to identify you, we do not combine it with anything else, and we do not build any profile from it. Cloudflare's own privacy practices are described at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Paperwall is free, and future versions of the app will show advertising to cover its costs. Ads are provided by Google AdMob.
When ads are shown, Google may collect and process information including your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device type and operating system, and information about how you interact with ads. Google uses this to serve and measure advertising. We do not receive this information about you individually; we only see aggregate figures such as how many ads were shown.
You can read how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your device settings under Settings → Privacy → Ads.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you will be asked for your consent before any personalised advertising is shown, and you can change that choice later in the app's settings.
Paperwall is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you have rights over your personal data, including the right to access it, correct it, have it erased, object to its processing, and complain to a supervisory authority.
Because Paperwall has no accounts, we hold no personal data that would let us identify you, so in most cases there is nothing for us to look up. If you believe we hold something about you, write to hello@serendipiwa.re and we will respond within one month.
For advertising data, requests should go to Google, since they are the controller of that data. Details are at policies.google.com/privacy.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to the data protection authority in your own country.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, such as introducing a new kind of data collection, we will say so in the app before it takes effect.
